Approach: By way of Pt Richards Channel, thence continuous through Wilsons Spit and Hopetoun and Corio Channels, at 12.3m dredge depth MLWS to Refinery Pier and Corio Quay North Nos. 1 and 2. Hopetoun Channel, City Channel 9.7m dredged depth to Cunningham Pier.
Wharfage Accommodation: 16 commercial berths with a total length of 3300 metres. These include specialist berths for oil and petroleum products, the bulk handling of grains, woodchip, general break bulk cargo, alumina, fertilisers, steel products, chemicals and LPG. No. 1 Berth at Corio Quay South is equipped as a stern-loading ro-ro terminal.
Rail Lines: On Corio Quay North Nos. 1 and 2.
Storage: Cargo sheds available.
Cranes: Dry bulk loader at Corio Quay No. 4. Two level luffing grabbing cranes each with a nominated maximum capacity of 700 tonnes per hour, and a mobile hopper linked to each crane at Lascelles Nos. 2 and 3 berths.
Container and Ro-Ro Facilities: Ro-ro berth at Corio Quay South.
Dry Bulk Facilities: 3,000 t.p.h. receival facility for self discharge vessels and undercover storage sheds at Lascelles Wharf with a combined capacity of 130,000 tonne.
Tanker Terminals: Available at the refinery piers operated by Shell and Terminals Ltd.
Bunkers: Via bunker vessel.
Towage: Tugs operate a 24-hour service at scheduled rates. Two diesel tugs up to 2550 bhp. (Third tug available).
